Citizens for the Environment and Future in Eastern Ontario

About us

The CEFEO is a non for profit organization incorporated in Ontario for the purposes of:

• preserving our rural communities and our quality of life in East Hawkesbury and surrounding areas;
• advancing the interests of residents in these areas;
• assuring protection of the environment in these areas; and
• facilitating the collection of information related to these purposes.

The organization was founded in East-Hawkesbury on February 15, 2003, in response to threat that industrial promoters will establish hog factories in St. Eugene and Ste. Anne de Prescott, two villages in the Ontario township of East-Hawkesbury, at the border with Québec towns of Rigaud, Très-St-Rédempteur et Pointe-Fortune.
